The idea of a discussion concerning the merits of Memphis style vs. Carolina style is akin to some of the great theological debates. Depending upon the participants, Martin Luther&#8217;s letter on the door of the cathedral caused less disruption to society. I can, and will admit that what I though of as BBQing growing up is simply the act of standing over a propane or charcoal grill and watching meat get warm and is in no way true BBQing.  This is not a BBQ recipe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My wife got me an instant pot about a year ago and I have to admit that it does some amazing things.  I&#8217;ve come across ways to make amazing perfect rice and pasta and it has become my go to for those  items. While the instant pot is basically a glorified pressure cooker I&#8217;ve really never used it as such. Until now. I came across this recipe from<strong> <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/iwashyoudry.com\/instant-pot-baby-back-pork-ribs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Iwashyoudry.com<\/a> recently and figured I would give it a try. Absolutly worth it. Who would have guessed you could have fall off the bone ribs in under an hour? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now this rub does have parsley in it and I am not sure if I liked it. Don&#8217;t get me wrong, I wouldn&#8217;t have shared this if I didn&#8217;t like it but I think some tweaks are necessary to truly please my family of picky eaters. block;\">Remove the lining from the bottom side of the ribs by running a butter knife under the skin and then using a paper towel to grip and remove completely. This comes off a lot more easily then you would expect.<\/span><\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-109-step-0-1\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\"><span style=\"display: block;\">Combine the brown sugar, chili powder, parsley, salt, pepper, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder and cayenne pepper in a small dish and rub all over the ribs.<\/span><\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-109-step-0-2\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\"><span style=\"display: block;\">Place the rack in your pressure cooker and place the ribs inside the pot, standing on their side, wrapping around the inside of the pot. Pour in the water, apple cider and liquid smoke (if using), being careful to not wash off any of the seasonings.<\/span><\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-109-step-0-3\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\"><span style=\"display: block;\">Secure the lid, making sure the vent is closed. Press the Meat button and set to 25 minutes. Let the pressure naturally release for 10 minutes, then quick release the rest of the way.<\/span><\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-109-step-0-4\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\"><span style=\"display: block;\">Carefully remove the ribs from the pressure cooker and set on a foil lined baking sheet. Brush down with your favorite BBQ sauce, and pop under the broiler for 5 minutes, but keep an eye on it so it doesn\u2019t burn (some ovens are more hot than others).
